I’m a sucker for data. This Prowly PR Trends and Predictions for 2025 report isn’t just random hot takes by PR pros. There is supporting survey data cited throughout. 

AI is the next massive technology trend and it will impact almost every industry, including PR. Feel free to try and convince me otherwise, but AI will arguably make a bigger impact than the Internet. 


The most interesting insights in this Prowly report is how PR professionals are thinking about AI. How much they use it, when they think using AI is appropriate, and how much of their budget is being used on AI-powered tools.

1 Trend I’m watching in 2025



Beyond AI, I’m watching how journalists and brands are figuring out what is newsworthy and what’s not newsworthy. Currently there is a lack of data resources to determine what’s hot and what’s not other than good old fashioned observation.

Lately I have been poking around over at Forbes.com and checking out the viewership on each of their articles to see what’s hot and do a little trendjacking.

Maybe I’m just speaking about my own PR desires, but I believe there will be more tools helping brands craft more relevant pitches based on quantifiable data.

I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any new tools like this in 2025.



1 PR win that caught my eye in 2024



My favorite PR win from 2024 is Ferrari snatching Lewis Hamilton away from Mercedes.

On the surface, it’s one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time moving to a rival team for an absurd amount of money… $100 million per year. But if we go one layer deeper, the media buzz Ferrari generated overnight boosted their market cap by $7 billion in 1 day.

Who said it’s hard to measure the ROI of PR?!
